The Choices

In the wilderness I wondered,

Take one road and part from the other-

I know this leads to home,

But what adventures;

Are along that which rends asunder?

This dull path with its benches,

That are empty, and so are the trenches,

They left hastily for safety-

Vague footprints and pushed aside branches;

Evidence of their humdrum choices.

As I pass the last sapling,

I recall where I stood wondering,

The road to home is not as safe-

For safety is to stand and do nothing,

And let the passing time decide something.

Steinfurt.

the question is, how long are you willing to wait?
